THE GHOST OF MY BROTHER RETURNS
To fix a broken world as a tool and die maker
where he once worked in the Philadelphia Mint.
He asks me to supply him with some of his old tools
that gyrate around in his head.
A Swiss lathe, callipers, wigglers, nuts and bolts,
tooth washers, butt connectors and a square.
He’s about to repair what’s busted on our planet—
when he’s cuffed by the Heavenly Patrol for leaving
the Mint with a pocket full of freshly made silver dollars,
quarters, nickels, dimes and a wad of $100 bills in his shoes.
